Creating Self-Enhancing Virtual Educational Communities

The Student Center

Unlike many other online classroom services, Build Your Own Website has always focused on the student as the center of the learning process. As a result, the service provides many unique tools designed specifically with students in mind. In most cases, these tools were originally designed for state-wide inquiry-based educational projects such as Inquire Ohio (1998), The Rest of Your Brain (2000), and Hunting for Everyday History (2003). From these origins came student-created virtual museums, online journals, self-grading/real-time quizzes, student-created online games and puzzles, and much more. New features include student homepages, secure parental access to student materials, online homework submission and notification, new student publishing templates, and more.
