The Truth About Cancer
Do you ever ask yourself the question "Why does anyone still die of cancer?" The new documentary, THE TRUTH ABOUT CANCER, attempts to answer this question through the eyes of award-winning filmmaker Linda Garmon as she shares the story of her husband's battle with cancer. This powerful documentary, while chronicling the lives of patients, doctors and researchers who are united in the hope for a cancer cure, uncovers the truth about cancer and tells us where we stand in fighting the battle against the disease.

Wanted: Breast Cancer Survivor Stories |
|
Every three minutes, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer, and when it strikes, the disease drastically alters their lives and those around them. As another project in the Take One Step initiative, WGTE wants to remind women of their risks, their ability to be proactive through self exams and early detection, and that there is hope.
Gloria Steinem, on her recent visit to Toledo, said that when we begin to talk about our experiences, we begin the final stage of healing. A dozen courageous women have told us their stories. Just click on the links below. We hope these stories will inspire you and make you realize that whether you have been just diagnosed, or know of someone who is living with cancer, there is so much hope!
If you have any questions about these local breast cancer survivor stories or WGTE's Take One Step initiative, please contact Kathy Smith, a survivor herself, at 419-380-4638.
